I don't even know what post-surgery week I am on...and I guess it doesn't quite matter anymore. The weeks have been going by so quickly that I can't keep up anyway!
I had my first bout with the intestinal flu that everyone seems to have. I only really had diarrhea but that is very scary for someone who gets dehydrated incredibly easy. It only lasted less than a day, but man..I have been trying to catch up with water ever since.
I got my hair cut super short and I am liking it! The hair coming out in my hands has lessened a little and I finally feel like I may be over that phase. It is still thin, but that will never grow back since it is from PCOS and not surgery. Hair loss has definitely been the worst part of PCOS, even more than the weight gain. I used to have amazing hair and now I don't. Even my 90 year old Grandma has better hair. You can't see her scalp like you can mine. But keeping it short makes me feel like it is thicker and it is very low maintenance. I have been wearing my wig less and I am ok with that too. It is always there if I need it. Plus..it's fun to keep people guessing how I can have highlights one day and not the next :)
| The REAL me! |
In just 6 pounds...I will be the lowest weight that I have seen since getting pregnant 11 years ago! That was also the last time I lost a significant amount of weight. In 2003, I went from 264 to 232 until finding out I was 4 months pregnant. Add another baby to that,PCOS,lots of emotional eating and stress, and just like that, my body has to carry another 100 pounds. I am so glad I don't have to be that me anymore. I am a changed woman in so many ways. I am strong, confident, happy and thankful...EVERY.SINGLE.DAY.
